Massage and Reflexology are two of the oldest therapies. Anecdotally, both have a good track record in helping to alleviate specific ailments as well as the stresses and strains of modern day living and recovery from sports injuries. But increasingly, the healing power of touch therapies is being supported by researched evidence. In recent years, there have been many developments involving new techniques and specialisation. Since qualifying in the year 2000 I have continued to add to my knowledge, enhance my skills and introduce new treatments. Lymphatic system problems and the treatment of sinus ailments are just two of my areas of specialty. I also work alongside the physiotherapists at the Nuffield Health Hospital, Taunton.

Maternity Reflexology is growing in recognition with regard to Pregnancy (the whole 9 months, labour and breast feeding) and pre-conception and Fertility issues (i.e. Infertility or rather Subfertility). It is particularly relevant in an environment where couples are increasingly leaving it until their mid-thirties and beyond to start a family. Pregnancy Massage has also proven to be highly beneficial for the mother-to-be, particularly in the later stages of pregnancy.

People are remaining active for longer and are keen to maintain vitality in their looks as well as their bodies. Natural Facelift Massage is a wonderful approach to keeping the facial signs of ageing at bay. It uses special massage techniques rather than lotions and potions. Those who have regular treatments have also benefited with regard to sinusitis and other sinus problems, migraines and insomnia.

To complement the therapeutic side of my practice, I also offer a full range of waxing treatments.

My Approach

As a complementary therapist I strive to connect with people on every level taking into consideration all aspects of their lifestyle and emotional well-being as well as their physical problems because they are all very much inter-connected. My approach is therefore a holistic one.

Where appropriate, I will offer suggestions for self-help as well as encouragement to take responsibility for your own health, making changes at a pace that will work for you. Once the body is back in tune, many people have treatments at regular intervals to help maintain their health and well-being.

My Background

For many years I ran my own outside catering business, which developed from a desire to create new and exciting foods. To help my staff cope with the long physically demanding hours that the industry sadly required, I often found myself giving neck, foot and back massages. My interest in massage and subsequently reflexology emerged from this.

I trained at the Raworth International College of Natural, Nutrition and Sports Therapies in Surrey, qualifying in 2000 before moving to Somerset to set up my own practice. I later began providing treatments at the Nuffield Health Hospital.

Location

My practice is based in North Curry, Taunton, South West Somerset, close to the A358, A361, A378 and A38. It is easily accessible from Bridgwater, Wellington and Staplegrove. Free parking is available.
